Philadelphia Eagles at *New Orleans Saints - Philly's strong right now, but I think the Saints get underestimated.
*Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions - Detroit will win eventually, but I don't think this week.
Houston Texans at *Dallas Cowboys - Houston finally won last week. It won't be two in a row.
*Carolina Panthers at Baltimore Ravens - Amazingly this is the first time these two teams have faced each other. Carolina's defense is struggling as is Baltimore's offense. It'll be close, but I think Carolina leave with the win.
NY Giants at *Atlanta Falcons - The Giants won't get off easy this week.
Tennessee Titans at *Washington Redskins - Both teams had disappointing losses last week, the home team will rebound better.
*Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Tampa Bay's newbie QB did well last week, but it'll be tougher against a rested team.
*Seattle Seahawks at St. Louis Rams - The battle for first in the division should go to the 'hawks.
*San Diego Chargers at San Francisco 49ers - SF should capitalize on a really good win last week.
Kansas City Chiefs at *Pittsburgh Steelers - Normally I would pick the Chiefs, but I think three in a row is all anyone can expect the Steelers to lose right now.
Miami Dolphins at *NY Jets - Another division game, tight but should go to the home team.
Oakland Raiders at *Denver Broncos - The Broncos defense is making it tough right now.
*Chicago Bears at Arizona Cardinals - The Bears continue to rock. (Poor Colbert.)

Week 5 Picks

Detroit Lions at *Minnesota Vikings - Struggling teams but the Vikings should take this. Yep. 1-0
Tennessee Titans at *Indianapolis Colts - The Colts had some issues last week, but I think they can work on them successfully. Just barely. 2-0
St. Louis Rams at *Green Bay Packers - Both struggling, and when in doubt go with Favre at home. (Usually). But not this week. 2-1
Buffalo Bills at *Chicago Bears - The Bears are the last unbeaten team and I'm sure they want it to stay that way. Oh yeah. 3-1
Cleveland Browns at *Carolina Panthers - The Panthers are on a roll. That's it. 4-1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at *New Orleans Saints _ TB is short a QB, so NO will go. Close though. 5-1
*Washington Redskins at NY Giants - It'll be a tough defensive battle but the Redskins should prevail. So sad. 5-2
Miami Dolphins at *New England Patriots - The Pats are doing better than the Dolphins right now. Yep. 6-2
Oakland Raiders at *San Francisco 49ers _ Two struggling teams, advantage home team. And they took advantage. 7-3
NY Jets at *Jacksonville Jaguars - The Jaguars are pretty sad about losing to us last week. They should feel better. Quite a bit better. 8-3
*Kansas City Chiefs at Arizona Cardinals - The Chiefs crazy offense is in gear. Althought AZ didn't look so bad there. 9-3
Dallas Cowboys at *Philadelphia Eagles - Should be a nasty game with TO back in town. Oh yeah. 10-3
Pittsburgh Steelers at *San Diego Chargers - The Chargers are out for blood after last week. And they found some. 11-3
*Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos - Big defenses, but I always count on the snake being unreliable. Apparently I should stop doing that. 11-4

Arizona at *Atlanta - Both teams are coming off of a loss, but I think Atlanta will rebound first. Quite a rebound. 1-0
*Dallas at Tennessee - Dallas has had too much non-news this week, and after the bye are ready to get back to football. Yes they were. 2-0
*Indianapolis at N.Y. Jets - The Jets defense isn't quite ready for Indy. Tight but Indy got it. 3-0
*Miami at Houston - Miami will use this week to recover. Houston squeaked it out. 3-1
Minnesota at *Buffalo - This is going to be a tight game, but if the Bills stop dropping the ball (literally) - they should prevail. And they got it. 4-1
*New Orleans at Carolina - Another tight game with two great defenses. I think The Saints can keep their streak going. Oops. 4-2
*San Diego at Baltimore - Two undefeated teams, but I think be rested may help the Chargers squeak it out. Apparently not. 4-3
San Francisco at *Kansas City - Struggling after Green's injury, the Chiefs should find their groove this week. Quite a groove. 5-3
Detroit at *St. Louis - Both teams have been inconsistent, but the Rams should be able to take this. And they did. 6-3
*Cleveland at Oakland - Both teams are struggling, but Oakland is struggling a little more. Yup. 7-3
Jacksonville at *Washington - Another tough game, but the Skins should be able to pull it out. Hail to the Redskins! 8-3
New England at *Cincinnati - The Bengals are looking great. But not this week. 8-4
*Seattle at Chicago - Seattle is also looking great. Again, not this week. 8-5
Green Bay at *Philadelphia - The green battle, should go to the home team. Not quite as good this week, but enough to get me to the playoffs. 9-5

Tennessee Titans - *Miami Dolphins - Both teams are win-less, but Miami should be able to find enough rhythm against the struggling Titans. The first of many close games this week. 1-0
Jacksonville Jaguars - *Indianapolis Colts - The Jags are looking good, but not quite that good. It'll be tight though Not a bad show against Indy. 2-0
*Washington Redskins - Houston Texans - While the Texans are of course a team of dedicated people, I think we can take them. (Really.) Yay! Although the penalties we are racking up remain atrocious. 3-0
*Green Bay Packers - Detroit Lions - The battle for the bottom of the NFC north. Folks are counting out the Packers but the Lions are often victims to tradition and one of them is losing to the Packers. I'm telling you, victims to tradition. 4-0
NY Jets - *Buffalo Bills - This is Buffalo's first home game and the third division game for both teams. Buffalo's been a little stronger and a little more consistent. Just had to mess with my streak there. 4-1
*Cincinnati Bengals - Pittsburgh Steelers - I'm going out on a limb here, because Cinci had a few injuries last week. But I'm betting on them being so freaking sick of hearing about the last time they played the Steelers. That should take care of those memories. 5-1
*Carolina Panthers - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Great defense vs. struggling offense. It was a squeaker though. 6-1
*Chicago Bears - Minnesota Vikings - And here we have the battle for the top of the NFC North. Both solid defenses, but Chicago's got a rocking offense right now. Or just rocking enough. 7-1
*Baltimore Ravens - Cleveland Browns - Yeah. Closer than expected. 8-1
NY Giants - *Seattle Seahawks - The Giants had a great rally last week, so this'll be a tight one, but I think Seattle has better consistency. Oh yeah. 9-1
*Philadelphia Eagles - San Francisco 49ers - The Eagles have to be bitter after last week's OT loss. Very bitter. 10-1
St. Louis Rams - *Arizona Cardinals - Another tough battle that no one wants to lose. But Arizona is motivated and trying to create a home win streak. So much for that streak. 10-2
Denver Broncos - *New England Patriots - The snake had a bad week and going against the Pats isn't going to help. That snake is inconsistent. But the very nature of that means sometimes... 10-3

Atlanta Falcons - *New Orleans Saints - Should be a squeaker, but the Saints are rolling - or should I say marching. 11-3 Which puts me in a winning record - 2-0 overall

*** MIAMI - Buffalo - Oooh - a division game when both are desparately vying for a wildcard spot. Miami hasn't won a division game yet, but Buffalo has yet to win one the road. So I'm going with Miami to break their trend. A squeaker! 1-0
*** PITTSBURGH - Cincinnati - Yeah Pittsburgh just went down to the Colts - they are not losing this week. Whoops, not a good start (for me). 1-1
*** BALTIMORE - Houston - Okay so I keep picking home teams, but in this case B'more is the less loserish team. Just barely - 2-1
*** INDIANAPOLIS - Tennessee - This is not the week Tennesee will see improvement in their road game. Yeah - so not that hard to predict. 3-1
CLEVELAND - *** Jacksonville - Jax took down the Cards last week even without Byron, I think they can take the Browns too. Close game. 4-1
*** N.Y. GIANTS - Dallas - Big oooh - Winner takes the division and so far the Giants have been winning the big ones. Shocker, I know. 5-1
CHICAGO -Green Bay *** - Now that GB is guaranteed a losing season I think they will - conversely - win some. Well, apprently they didn't get that memo. 5-2
DETROIT *** - Minnesota - Two incosistent teams for anothe division battle - I think Detroit's a little madder after last week. Oops - well that's what happens when both are inconsistent. 5-3

Tennessee*** - CLEVELAND -Loser bowl. Both teams had crushing losses last week and both want to make up for that this week. But McNair is the guy who knows how to do it (much as I love Trent).
Oakland - *** KANSAS CITY - Hee. Moss is back but KC has home field and an average of 24 points a game.
Chicago - NEW ORLEANS*** - Crazy I know, but the Bears went into OT to hold on to the division lead last week, and I think they have underestimated the inconsistent Saints. And the Saints are going to want to please the home crowd (for real this time).
*** Cincinnati - BALTIMORE - It'll be a tough division game, but Cinci is doing really well right now.
Carolina - *** TAMPA BAY - This game will help break a three way tie for the NFC South, so I'll go with the home team but this will be a hard fought game.
Houston - *** JACKSONVILLE - I'm still a little bitter about those Florida teams all conspiring against me last week, but Houston got their first win last week. They aren't getting number two this week.
*** Atlanta - MIAMI - A big RB battle, but Atlanta's roll may be unstoppable (for now).
NY Giants*** - SAN FRANCISCO - Last week was a fluke.
*** Seattle - ARIZONA - The AZ coach said they have to learn to play better. This should help.
*** Pittsburgh - GREEN BAY - GB's got interception issues, injury issues, running issues, etc. This will not be their week.
Philadelphia - WASHINGTON *** - We got embarassed last week. Loser gets the bottom of the division - it'll be the green guys.

*** Indianapolis - NEW ENGLAND - NE is banged up (you know it's bad when stroke boy coming back is the big thing) - they aren't in shape for Indy.

***CINCINNATI - Pittsburgh - Oooh- a division match with Pittsburgh coming off a hard loss last week. So, when in doubt pick the home team. Well, that usually works. 2-2
PHILADELPHIA - San Diego*** - Hmmm - another close one, but Philly lost to Dallas (who we beat - just wanted to mention that) so I think SD will figure a way to do the same. But not this time. 2-3
*** MIAMI - Kansas City - Hmmm some more - the game's been pushed due to the wather and I figure the Dolphins are more accustomed to 'cane disruptions. Oh. 2-4
*** CLEVELAND - Detroit - Loser bowl. Hmmm. 2-5
*** WASHINGTON - San Francisco - Look! We're favored again! And by 12 points! Well, at least I have this. 3-5

**New Orleans - MINNESOTA - It'll be close but I think MN has consistency problems that will continue to plague them. Hmm - apparently not. 3-2

Are You Ready for Some Football?

Yeah - it's that happy time of year when my favorite sport (to watch) is on. And so, I thought I would share my picks so you can have the benefit of my wisdom (or lack thereof). and to force me to keep track of how reliable I am. Just to lay it out, I am a lifelong Redskins fan. And I have warm and fuzzy feelings about the Buccaneers, the Seahawks, the Dolphins and the Browns.
So - my thoughts for week 2.

Saturday Games
**Baltimore - TENNESSEE - It will be close, Baltimore got embarrassed last week, so I think they want this more. Called that wrong. 0-1
**Pittsburgh - HOUSTON - Houston's a bit of a mess right now. Yup. 1-1
** INDIANAPOLIS - Jacksonville - This will be a tight division game, and Jax did well last week, but I think Indy might take this. Not that original a pick, but still. 2-1.
** Detroit - CHICAGO - The Redskins beat Chicago last week without scoring a touchdown. Nuff said. Well who knew Chicago had it in them. 2-2.
**San Francisco - PHILADELPHIA - This is another tough one, McNabb is questionable for Sunday and Philly got beat by some other birds last week. And right now Philly is at the bottom of their division. (Hee - that's so much fun to say.) Yeah, yeah - I should have known not to bet against an injured Philly. 2-3.
**TAMPA BAY - Buffalo - It will be close - both teams did great last week, but I think Tampa has better experience winning against good teams. Yay! 3-3
** New England - CAROLINA - The Panthers lost to the hurricane team and lost a key player, this is not a good week for them. Darn it - and I hate the Pats. 3-4
**SEATTLE - Atlanta - This one is close too, Atlanta's D made Philly look silly and Seattle doesn't have McNabb. But this is Seattle's first home game so I think they will pull it out here. Ha! 4-4.
** St. Louis - ARIZONA - Kurt jost lost to his other former team last week, I think he'll end up doing the same this week. Yeah - I know - nothing original in picking against AZ. 5-4.
**Miami - N.Y. JETS - The Jets were a mess last week, and former Skins QB Frerotte did a great job for the Dolphins. Hmmm - well what d'ya know. 5-5
**GREEN BAY - Cleveland - It usually doesn't pay to bet against GB at home - especially the first home game. Yeah, yeah, every record eventually fails. 5-6.
**San Diego - DENVER - Another division match, but Jake the Snake is once again demonstrating the inconsistency that he is so known for. Okay, San Diego is apparently experiencing post-Cinderella syndrome. 5-7
** Kansas City - OAKLAND - It'll be an offensive shootout, but KC will take it. Oh good. 6-7
**CINNCINATI -Minnesota - It'll be close again, but Cincy has consistency on its side. See! 7-7
Monday Games
**Washington - DALLAS - Hey we're leading the division now. (Okay so we're tied with the Cowboys and the Giants - but still. And - I'm not the only person picking them.) Ha! 8-7
**New Orleans - N.Y. GIANTS - This is a hard one to pick. Who wants to bet against the hurricane team that says they're playing to offer hope to all the dispaced residents? Well, okay this week the Giants want to beat them, but I think as it gets close the veteran QB will do the job. Oh - alright. 8-8.
